Nourhan Bassam

Nourhan Bassam is a Director at The Gendered City, focusing on dismantling gendered urban environments. As Principal Owner at GamingX, Nourhan leads business initiatives, while simultaneously serving as a Research Professor at Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, supervising research on "Placemaking & Cognitive Experiences." Nourhan contributes to urban development from a girl's perspective at UN-Habitat and co-directs Forward43, which promotes citizen participation and gender equality through innovative social enterprise matchmaking. As a researcher for The Urban Violence Research Network, Nourhan engages in interdisciplinary studies on urban violence, and serves as a Good Play Guide Associate with FUNdamentally Children. Additionally, Nourhan is a placemaking advocate at PlacemakingX and previously participated in the Be Ambassador Program under Egypt's National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development. Educational achievements include a PhD in Architectural Engineering and Urbanism from Cairo University, alongside advanced studies in Landscape Architecture and Urban Mobility.
