Richard Gillette has worked in various roles in the software engineering, graphic technology, and mycology fields since 2007. In 2008, they were a Supervisor at Coty Beauty. From 2007 to 2009, they were a Lab Technician and Associate Researcher at Clemson University and Agarigen, respectively. From 2010 to 2016, they worked as a Software Developer at Omnibond LLC. During this time, they had experience with programming in Javascript, PHP, PERL, Python, and shell, as well as working in Identity Management writing drivers and some web development in PHP and Javascript. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Graphic Technology Specialist at International Paper. During this time, they also had experience with software development in Python/Django and Jquery/Javascript as well as some C++ for integrated equipment. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Technical Administrator at Graphic Packaging International, LLC. During this time, they were responsible for software development in Python/Django and Jquery/Javascript as well as some C++ for integrated equipment, as well as maintenance of hardware and software for the office and onsite and offsite backups. From 2020 to 2022, they were a Senior Software Engineer at West Monroe. During this time, they updated ELK stack to latest beats versions, updated logstash configurations, and updated elastic watchers, and brought the entire stack under a centrally managed platform with version control and deployment with ansible, octopus, teamcity, and bitbucket. From 2020 to 2023, they were a Senior Full Stack Developer at Curbside Kitchen. During this time, they migrated DigitalOcean hosting platform to Amazon AWS utilizing launch configurations for autoscaling EC2 groups connected to Amazon RDS behind Amazon ELB, dockerized applications for easier deployment on cloud platforms, and developed and maintained custom application written in the Django framework. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Funnel Leasing.
Richard Gillette studied Genetics at Clemson University from 2004 to 2008, earning a B.S. degree. Richard also attended the University of South Carolina in 2003-2004, studying Computer Science. In February 2021, they obtained an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
