Derrick Ongchin

Derrick Ongchin has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Derrick is currently serving as the Chief Product Officer at Fuse Technologies. Prior to that, they held the position of Product Management Leader at Block. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Afterpay as the Senior Director of Product Management. Before joining Afterpay, Derrick worked at Uber for four years, where they held the role of Head of Product, Risk & Security. During their time at Uber, they were responsible for launching various product solutions and overseeing the risk strategy in China. Derrick also managed a team of 10 Product Managers. Prior to Uber, they worked at Target as a Senior Product Manager and at Google in various roles, including Associate Principal, Trust & Safety, and Product Specialist, Books. Before their time at Google, Derrick gained experience as a Manufacturing Engineer at AMD.

Derrick Ongchin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Cornell University from 2002 to 2006. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Simultaneously, during the same period, they also attended the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
