Brian Wu

Brian Wu has a diverse work experience in finance and leadership positions. Brian currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Future Fertility since December 2022. Prior to this, they were the Chief Financial Officer at Bonsai, joining as the first C-Suite hire and optimizing burn before transitioning to an advisory role.

Before their role at Bonsai, Brian was the Vice President of Finance at Maple (getmaple.ca) from June 2019 to May 2022. Brian also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Waterloo from May 2018 to August 2019, teaching finance-related courses.

Brian has held significant roles in the financial sector, including Vice President of Finance at STACK from July 2018 to June 2019 and Finance Lead at Borrowell from August 2017 to July 2018. Brian also worked at CIBC, where they served as Director of the Alternate Solutions Group from December 2015 to July 2017, and as an Associate in Strategy and Corporate Development from May 2014 to November 2015.

Earlier in their career, Brian worked at KPMG Canada, where they held multiple positions. These included Manager of Transactions and Restructuring Advisory from October 2013 to May 2014, Associate of Transactions and Restructuring Advisory from March 2012 to September 2013, and Senior Accountant/Tax Specialist from October 2009 to March 2012.

Brian Wu has a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Waterloo. Brian also holds a Master of Accounting degree from the same university. In addition to their academic qualifications, Brian Wu has obtained the certification of Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario), as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute.
