Peter Schutz

Peter Schutz OAM, FAIFST, FAICD is an accomplished leader in the food science and agricultural sectors, currently serving as Chairman of The Lupin Company since July 2016 and as a Non-Executive Director at Future Food Systems CRC since July 2019. Peter's previous roles include Non-Executive Director at FermenTasmania, where Peter contributed to enhancing Tasmania's reputation for quality fermented products, and Chairman of the Australian Institute of Food Science & Technology Ltd until August 2020. Schutz has also held significant positions in various advisory and directorial roles, including Chairman of Food Innovation Australia Limited and the Food Safety Centre Advisory Board at the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture. An alumnus of the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University, Schutz holds a B.Sc(Hons) in Biochemistry & Microbiology and a B.App.Sc in Wine Science, alongside a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Future Food Systems

Future Food Food Systems is an industry led research group established under the Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Program and commenced in 2019. The overarching aim of the CRC is to develop technologies, products and services that improve the efficiency, sustainability and nutritional outcomes of global food systems. Its commercial focus is on production of goods that have strong provenance, environmental and health credentials. Headquartered at the University of NSW in Sydney, Australia, the CRC group includes more than 50 industry, government and research partners, including international entities.
