Elaine Laughlin

Elaine Laughlin is a board member at Future of Privacy Forum. Elaine has over 17 years of experience in the non-profit sector, including leadership roles at WETA and Pew Charitable Trusts.

Laughlin began their career in 2003 as the Director of Institutional Development at TERC. In this role, they were responsible for increasing philanthropic support for the organization. After four years in this position, they were recruited by Pew Charitable Trusts to lead their newly formed team responsible for raising $50 million annually from foundations.

In 2011, Laughlin joined WETA as their Vice President of Foundation & Government Development. In this role, they oversaw a team of six that raised $30 million annually from institutional funders. During their time at WETA, they helped produce PBS NewsHour, Washington Week, and documentaries such as Ken Burns' The War and Henry Louis Gates Jr.'s Finding Your Roots.

Laughlin has been a board member at Future of Privacy Forum since 2020. Elaine is a respected leader in the non-profit sector with a proven track record of success in fundraising and partnership development.

Elaine Laughlin has a Master’s Degree in Communication - Theory, Research and Planning from Cornell University. Elaine also has a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Art Theirtory from Wellesley College.
