Brian Duffy

Technical Innovation Advisor at FutureOn

Brian Duffy has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning across various companies. Starting in 1993, they worked as a Training Manager at ABAQUS until 1998. Later, Brian joined ExxonMobil as a Senior Research Engineer, where they conducted research on pipeline design, pressurized LNG, tight gas stimulation, and subsurface engineering. In 2007, they moved on to Technip as an Engineering Supervisor, supervising projects, developing FE modeling techniques, and leading the internal community of engineers using FEA & CFD tools. Brian then joined Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants in 2012, where they served as the Department Manager for Pipeline Engineering. Brian led a diverse technical team, facilitated staff deployment, and developed pipeline design guidelines. After this, they joined Technip as the Director of Offshore Platform Engineering, managing projects and providing technical input for proposals. In 2016, Brian became the Chief Scientist at TechnipFMC, managing the FIDE software suite and supporting complex FEA projects. Brian later joined Genesis Energies as a Digital Manager, overseeing engineering solutions and leading initiatives for modernization. Currently, Brian serves as the VP of Industry Partners at FutureOn, where they develop partner strategies, manages new partner demands, and establishes cross-functional relationships.

Brian Duffy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1989. Brian then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University, completing their studies in 1994.
