Alana Sivin

Alana Sivin is a seasoned professional in criminal justice policy and research with extensive experience in legislative counsel, legal representation, and policy advocacy. Currently serving as the Policy and Research Manager for FWD.us since August 2022, Alana previously held the position of Candidate for State Assembly with Alana For New York and served as a Senior Advisor for A More Just NYC. Alana’s experience includes roles as Senior Legal Analyst/Anchor at The Appeal Media and Senior Legislative Counsel for the New York City Council, where significant contributions included drafting legislation on incarceration issues and establishing important taskforces. Previous positions also involved legal practice as a Staff Attorney and Legal Recruiter at New York County Defender Services, and various legal clerkships. Alana holds a Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Columbia University.
