Sumit Bhatnagar

Mr. Sumit Bhatnagar, Group President, is the Group’s Chief Human Resource Officer and a member of the ANAND Executive Board. He heads the Group’s internal university, ‘ANAND U’ and also the Infrastructure Department. As part of the matrix structure within the ANAND Executive Board, he will be responsible for three Group companies, MAHLE ANAND Thermal Systems, ANAND CY Myutec Automotive, and CY Myutec ANAND to support the respective Group Co-Chief Operating Officer in charge of those companies.

He is also a member of the ANAND Management Forum which oversees operational issues for the Group.

He has been associated with ANAND for almost two decades now. Prior to taking over the current responsibility, Sumit was Chief Operating Officer of Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU) for Gabriel India. He led Gabriel Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU) towards successfully transforming its performance.

Sumit had joined MAHLE ANAND Thermal Systems in 1999 as Senior Engineer – Manufacturing. At MAHLE ANAND Thermal Systems, he successfully managed roles in Customer care, business development, supply chain, production and logistics and established the Visco fan drive business in India. He subsequently moved to ANAND CY Myutec Automotive, as Business Head in 2008 and sustained ANAND CY Myutec Automotive as preferred vendor for its customers through consistent performance improvement. In 2011, he joined Gabriel India initially as Plant Head, Khandsa and later became the Chief Operating Officer of Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU).

Sumit has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Production and has completed Executive Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM Kozhikode. He has completed the one year ‘Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing’ Programme and is also an alumni of the ANAND Leadership Development Programme (ALDP). He has completed the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme from the University of Oxford, UK, and also the Advanced Management Programme from MIT Sloan, USA.
