Glenn is one of Melbourne’s most respected legal authorities and is widely recognised within the profession as a leader in his field. Prior to joining Gadens, Glenn spent 27 years at the Victorian Bar, the last 10 of which were as Senior Counsel.
Glenn practises in commercial law, principally in intellectual property and shareholder class actions. He has extensive advice, trial and appellate experience in litigation (courts and tribunals) involving patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, confidential information and trade practices involving all areas of technology including engineering, chemistry, polymers, software, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Over the course of his career, Glenn has advised on and appeared in some of Australia’s most high profile and complex cases including the SurfStitch Shareholder Class Action 2016-2021, the Quintis Shareholder Class Action, Commissioner of Taxation v Seven Network Ltd 2015-16, Damorgold v JAI Products 2013-2015, Hutt v Enig 1998, SECV v DUT 1998, Maggbury v Hafele 1998-2001, Boehringer v Cmr of Patents 2001-03, Sharman Networks v Universal Music 2005-06, Chiropedic v Radburg 2007-09, Acohs v Ucorp 2006-2013, Insight SRC v ACER 2012-13, LED v Roadvision 2011-12 and Novartis v Bausch & Lomb 2003-04.
Glenn holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in law and is a nationally accredited mediator, a Fellow (and past President) of the Australian Institute for Commercial Arbitration and is a past Chair of both the Commercial Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section and the Victorian Bar Human Rights Committee.
Glenn is regularly nominated in and selected as a leading lawyer in publications such as Doyle’s Guide, IAM1000, Chambers and Best Lawyers Australia for his expertise and standing in litigation, contentious intellectual property, patents, biotechnology, trade marks and class actions.
