David Kavulak

Senior Director Solar R&d at GAF Energy

David Kavulak has an extensive background in solar energy research and development. David currently holds the position of Senior Director Solar R&D at GAF Energy since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as Director R&D at GAF Energy from May 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining GAF Energy, David worked at SunPower Corporation for nearly a decade. David held the role of Sr Manager Module Technology from November 2017 to March 2019, where they managed integrated R&D programs for solar modules and developed materials for commercial solar modules. David also served as a Senior Staff Engineer at SunPower Corporation from March 2010 to November 2017.

David began their career as a Graduate Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs in January 2005 and continued in that role until May 2010. During their time at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, they specialized in designing and characterizing novel polymers for energy and OLED applications and played a key role in designing a new organic solar research facility.

David also conducted Graduate Research at UC Berkeley from 2004 to 2009 and worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Virginia from September 2002 to May 2004.
