Ann De Greef is a prominent figure in animal welfare, serving as a member of the Flemish Animal Welfare Council since January 2024 and actively participating in various organizations since 1992. As co-founder and director of GAIA, the largest Belgian animal rights organization, Ann has championed for animal rights at both regional and European levels. Current roles include director at Eurogroup for Animals and chairwoman of the Brussels Animal Welfare Council, alongside membership in the Cruelty Free Europe board. Ann is also involved with the Conseil wallon du Bien-être animal and contributes to the European Commission's Working Group on the castration of piglets. Past contributions include a member of the board of administration for the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments and expertise in the Project Committee CEN/TC 443 Feather and Down.
