Vijay Barathan

Vijay Barathan, MD, is a HealthTech venture capitalist and partner at Optum Ventures, where Vijay leads global investments and manages the portfolio outside the US since May 2019. In addition to this role, Vijay serves as a board member for Vira Health, icometrix, Kaia Health, Ultromics, and Holmusk, contributing to various innovations in women's health, neuro-radiology imaging AI, digital therapeutics for musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions, cardiology imaging AI, and behavioral health data analytics. Vijay also holds board observer positions at Doccla, Gaia, Loop, and Caresyntax, focusing on enhancing healthcare accessibility and intelligence. Vijay obtained an MBBS and a BSc in Developmental Neurobiology from Guy's Kings' and St Thomas' Medical School in London.
