Matthew Hockman has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Matthew currently holds the position of QC Project Manager at Gaia Herbs, a role they assumed in December 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Gaia Herbs, including Inventory & Operations Compliance Specialist and Document Associate.
Before working at Gaia Herbs, Matthew held the position of Store Manager - Strawberry Hill Yogurt & Cafe at Fletcher Academy from September 2014 to August 2015. Matthew also worked as a Supervising Agent at American Income Life Insurance Company from March 2014 to September 2014.
From December 2012 to March 2014, Matthew worked as an Assistant Store Manager at Fletcher Academy Inc. During this time, they gained extensive experience in labor and scheduling, store set/merchandising, training and development, asset management, ordering/receiving, POS management, administrative duties, report analysis, inventory control, cashiering, performance reviews, and customer service.
Matthew's longest-standing role was at Starbucks, where they worked from June 2006 to December 2012. Matthew started as a Shift Supervisor and then became an Assistant Manager before assuming the position of Store Manager. Their responsibilities included training and developing partners, ordering and inventory management, store management, and upholding Starbucks' vision and values.
Prior to Starbucks, Matthew worked as a Textbook Manager at WAU from October 1999 to May 2003. In this role, they managed textbook ordering and sales for college students and the Adult Evening Program classes, as well as inventory and stock for the entire bookstore.
Matthew Hockman obtained their Master's degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University between the years 2017 and 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Business Management from Washington Adventist University (WAU) from 1999 to 2004.
