W. Lee Gaines, Jr.

A solid professional with more than 45 years in the construction business, Lee manages the financial end of Gaines & Co., handles the bidding process for jobs, and oversees personnel matters. Serving as a past president and board member of the Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland, as well as a long-time board member of the National Utility Contractors Association, Lee is a respected member of his community. He was appointed by Governor Hogan to the Maryland Transportation Authority in 2015 – and is still an active board member today. A graduate of Yale University, Lee devotes his time and energy to supporting education. He is a past trustee of Boys’ Latin School, Gilman School, and is currently a trustee at Yorktown University. Lee still plays a competitive game of tennis.
