GAINESVILLE FIRE RESCUE
David Sutton has extensive experience in emergency services, serving as the Assistant Chief and District Chief at Gainesville Fire Rescue since January 2017, and as a Paramedic within the Community Resource Paramedic Program. Additionally, David has held the position of Fire Lieutenant at Gainesville Fire Department since May 2006 and has contributed as an Adjunct Instructor at Santa Fe College since May 2009. Educationally, David earned a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Science from the University of Florida between 2006 and 2009 and completed Paramedic training at Santa Fe College from 2003 to 2004.

Gainesville Fire Rescue’s vision is to recognized as the model of excellence by the provisions of our services. We currently operate eight fire stations with advanced life support and one airport fire station that operates with basic life support. We have 200 full time budgeted positions and run an approx 20,000 emergency calls per year.
