Andrew Wheeler

Andrew Wheeler has experience working as a Principal Data Scientist at Gainwell Technologies. Andrew also founded CRIME De-Coder in 2023. Before that, they were a Data Scientist at HMS from 2019 to 2021 and an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, Andrew worked as a Research Analyst at The John F. Finn Institute for Public Safety, Inc. from 2009 to 2016, a Crime Analyst at the City of Troy, New York from 2012 to 2014, and a Research Intern at the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services from 2010 to 2012. Andrew also served as an Adjunct Professor at The College of Saint Rose in 2011. Andrew's work primarily focuses on data analysis in criminal justice and public safety.

Andrew Wheeler completed their Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2008. Andrew then pursued a Master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Criminal Justice at the University at Albany, SUNY from 2008 to 2010 and 2008 to 2015 respectively. Andrew also holds a certification as a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons.
