Alec Harrell has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Alec started their career as a Computer Science student at UCSB College of Engineering from September 2011 to March 2016. Alec then worked at Novacoast as a Developer III and later as a Developer IV - Cyber Security Engineer and Developer, where they developed and deployed pseudo-ransomware to test user response across a healthcare organization. From 2019 to 2022, they served as the Director of Security Services at Novacoast, providing security advisory and architecting custom developed solutions for highly regulated sectors. In 2022, they joined Palo Alto Networks as the Team Lead for Cloud Application Security and Automation, leading a team that advised and implemented best practices in vulnerability management and automation. Currently, Alec Harrell holds the position of Vice President, Senior Product Security Engineer at Galaxy, where they provide security expertise and leads innovative digital asset projects.
Alec Harrell holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara, which they obtained between 2011 and 2016.
