Sam Lee

Sam Lee, J.D., LL.M. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 2001, Sam worked as a Corporate Paralegal, specializing in Structured Finance at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP until 2003. After that, Sam joined O'Melveny & Myers LLP as a Senior Corporate Paralegal, focusing on Transactions until 2005.

In 2010, Sam transitioned to tax roles and joined PwC as a Tax Associate, specializing in International Tax for multinational Fortune 500 corporations until 2012. Later, Sam became a Senior Tax Associate, advising private equity funds on International M&A Tax until 2013.

From 2013 to 2016, Sam worked at GoldenTree Asset Management as an Associate Tax Counsel, providing assistance with tax planning, structuring, and compliance for domestic and cross-border transactions.

In 2016, Sam joined Reverse Mortgage Funding LLC as the Director and Head of Tax until 2018. Currently, Sam is employed at Galaxy Digital as the Managing Director and Head of Tax, a position held since 2018.

Sam Lee, J.D., LL.M. graduated from Columbia University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy. Sam then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Religion at Westminster Theological Seminary from 1999 to 2001. In 2008, they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from St. John's University School of Law, specializing in Law. Subsequently, they furthered their education by earning a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2009. Prior to their collegiate studies, Sam Lee attended Teaneck High School from 1992 to 1995. Sam is also a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey.
