Dr. Fabian Sommerrock

Dr. Fabian Sommerrock has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dr. Fabian currently serves as the Head of Business Development & Cooperations at Galenica, a leading healthcare provider in Switzerland. Prior to this, they were the Head of Programme Care at Galenica and played a key role in managing their network of pharmacies.

Dr. Sommerrock also held positions at Pathmate Technologies AG as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, where they focused on building scalable chronic care management solutions. Dr. Fabian served as a Member of the Executive Board and Head of Strategy & Corporate Services at CSS Versicherung, one of Switzerland's leading insurance companies. Additionally, Dr. Sommerrock was the Chief Executive Officer of Sanagate Health Insurance, a prominent direct health insurance company in Switzerland.

Dr. Fabian also contributed to the field of digital health interventions as a Member of the Board at the Centre for Digital Health Interventions. Earlier in their career, Dr. Sommerrock worked at The Geneva Association, a leading international think tank in the insurance industry, as the Deputy Managing Director and Head of Insight. Dr. Fabian was responsible for rebuilding and transforming the organization's strategy and operating model.

Before that, Dr. Sommerrock was a part of Roland Berger, a global consultancy firm, where they held various roles including Member of the Management Team Switzerland and Senior Project Manager. Their consulting experience focused on financial services, insurance industry, public services, and NGOs/foundations.

Dr. Fabian Sommerrock has a diverse education history. Dr. Fabian started by completing an apprenticeship in banking/insurance at BW Bank (formerly Landesbank Baden-Württemberg) from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Fabian then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Mannheim from 1999 to 2004. In 2002, Dr. Sommerrock engaged in a short-term study of Economic Policy at American University. Dr. Fabian went on to earn their PhD in economic and social science, Dr. rer. pol., at the University of Kassel from 2007 to 2009. Currently, they are working as a visiting lecturer at the University of St.Gallen, specializing in the fields of Business, Management, Marketing, and Digital Transformation.
