John Michael McLaughlin

John Michael McLaughlin has extensive work experience in the education industry, starting with their role as a founding member of Benton Hall Academy in 1977. John Michael later became the President of The Education Industry Group, LLC in 1992, where they published The Education Industry Report and provided advice to investors and operators.

In 2004, McLaughlin joined ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, and Education, where they held various executive positions, including Executive Vice President and Director of Research & Analytics. John Michael also served as a Strategic Advisor and Director until 2021.

Prior to their executive roles, McLaughlin worked as a Tenured Associate Professor at St. Cloud State University, teaching Educational Administration and Leadership courses, with a focus on Education Law and Research Design.

Most recently, McLaughlin holds the position of Chairman and Chief Development Officer at Galileo Education Inc., where they continue to contribute their expertise in the education field.

John Michael McLaughlin earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Vanderbilt Peabody College, where they studied from 1970 to 1974. John Michael then pursued their Master of Arts degree in Geography from The University of Chicago, attending from 1974 to 1976. After a hiatus, John returned to their educational journey and obtained their Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 1985 to 1988.
