Seda Unal Calargun

Seda Unal Calargun has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Seda began their career as a Software Engineer and Team Leader at MilSOFT Yazilim Teknolojileri A.S. where they played a crucial role in the development and integration of critical components for the Genesis Data Link Modernization Program. Seda then moved on to work at Srdc-Software Research & Development Center as a Software Engineer, contributing to multinational European Commission projects and developing open-source projects in Java.

In 2013, Seda joined Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer and later advanced to the role of SDE II. During their time at Microsoft, they focused on designing and implementing key features for the Bing Ads Display Marketplace booking team, developing algorithms for impression level availability and allocation, and improving the performance of booking engine APIs.

Seda's career continued at Twitter, where they held various positions including Sr. Software Engineer, Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, and eventually Director of Engineering. Seda led teams responsible for the coordination of services and systems, the development of a blob storage system, and the management of Twitter's compute platform.

Most recently, Seda joined Galileo Financial Technologies as the Director of Engineering for Data Services, beginning their role in 2023.

Seda Unal Calargun holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University (1999-2004). Seda also completed a Minor Degree in Information Systems and Computer Engineering from the same institution (2002-2004). Furthermore, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University (2004-2008).
