Makena Yee has had a diverse range of work experiences. Makena started their career as a Sales Associate at Sparkle Boutique, where they gained retail and marketing insights. Makena later worked as a Social Media Manager at Singer Wealth Management, curating and increasing brand awareness through various social media platforms. Makena also worked as a Social Media Manager at Sparkle Renton Boutique, where they initiated fresh social media initiatives to increase brand awareness throughout the Greater Seattle Area. Makena has also been a Social Media Influencer for their food blog, @Seattle.Grub, aiming to influence social media audiences from the greater Seattle area to support local businesses and try new cuisines. Additionally, they worked as a Snapchat Spotlight Content Creator at Brat TV, where they developed and posted over 600 videos for the Snapchat Spotlight feature. Makena also gained experience in Public Relations as an intern at PR Collective, where they performed market analysis activities, identified prospective influencer partners, and facilitated press releases for various clients. Makena has also worked as an Amazon Prime Student Manager at Amazon, engaging with students on the University of Washington Seattle campus to promote the benefits and features of Prime Student. Makena's other roles include being a Resident Advisor at the University of Washington, enhancing residential life experiences and programming community-focused events, and a Marketing Intern at Oki Golf, curating content and managing analytics for social media channels. Currently, they are working as a Kroger Content Creator at Gallery Media Group, producing trendy recipe videos for Kroger's TikTok account.
