Eva Janssens is a dedicated professional with a strong background in social services and education. Currently serving as Team Leader for Homeless Prevention Services at Galway Simon Community since November 2022, Eva focuses on tenancy sustainment and has previously worked as a Housing Support Officer and Relief Housing Support Assistant in the same organization. Prior experience includes teaching English at Number 16 School, where Eva received recognition as Teacher of the Month, and providing freelance support to the National Youth Council of Ireland across various programs. Additional roles include Head Tutor at Project Fashion, Charity Fundraiser and Regional Team Leader at Oxfam Ireland, and retail positions at Avoca Ireland and Louis Copeland & Sons. Eva holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science from the University of Galway and has pursued further education in fashion design and social sciences.

Galway Simon Community was set up in 1979 by a group of volunteers who refused to accept homelessness on the streets of Galway. With the support of the wider community, we have grown, developed, learned and adapted over the years to become a leading provider of homeless and homelessness prevention services in the region. At Galway Simon Community, we support a person’s right to security, dignity and wellbeing in their own home. We are relentlessly committed to ¬finding answers to the questions faced by real people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. It is our belief that early intervention is the most effective means of reducing the trauma and cost associated with homelessness.
