Meisaa Abbas

Meisaa Abbas has extensive experience in social work and community engagement, currently serving as a Volunteer Assistant to the Director of Community Engagement at Zaman International since December 2012, where responsibilities include community liaison, event management, volunteer coordination, and program design consulting. Meisaa has also held the position of Medical MSW at Garden City Hospital since July 2012 and previously worked as a Medical MSW at Oakwood Healthcare from February 2013 to October 2016. Additional roles include Clinical Psychology Research Assistant at Wayne State University, Liaison of School Involvement and Student Affairs, and Bilingual Paraprofessional at Hamadeh Educational Services, and internships at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia and Personalized Nursing Lighthouse. Meisaa Abbas holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a focus on Interpersonal and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and Linguistics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
