Carla Pilsworth is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in strategy, transformation, and income generation within the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy, Transformation, Income Generation, and Marcomms at Garden House Hospice Care since February 2020, Carla is responsible for strategic planning and overseeing impactful change initiatives. Previously, as the Head of Regional Fundraising at Macmillan Cancer Support from 2006 to 2020, Carla led a team of 13 fundraisers, achieving significant income growth. Carla's early career includes roles at easyJet and TUI Travel PLC, where expertise in customer service and team leadership were developed. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership from the University of Hertfordshire and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
Garden House Hospice Care
Garden House Hospice Care provides free specialist palliative care for patients, families and carers facing life limiting illnesses from across North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and towns and villages in Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, serving a population of around 230,000 people. Working with our medical team of highly experienced doctors and nurses, we have specialists in a wide range of roles including complementary physiotherapy, bereavement, occupational therapy, complementary therapy and spiritual care. We offer: - Inpatient Care - Hospice at Home service - Hawthorne Centre - Family Support Service Although the Hospice receives some funding we need to raise almost £5 million in charitable income to run these services and greatly rely on the support of the community- local businesses, groups and individuals to help fund our work. We also rely on the support of our fantastic volunteers to help us deliver our services.
