Richard Osterloh has over 12 years of experience in the engineering field. Richard began their career in 2008 as a Systems Engineer at Real-Time Solutions. In 2009, they moved on to Metacom as a Firmware Engineer. In 2012, they joined Cogent Healthcare Systems as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, where they developed Windows Embedded based system and driver level code in C/C++ for a ARM based medical communications hub. In 2014, they worked as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at buddi, where they developed low power wearable electronic devices used in the security and healthcare industries. Richard also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Becrypt that same year. In 2016, they were a Contract Systems Engineer at WaveOptics Ltd, where they provided electrical design assistance, proof of concept and testing of custom Augmented Reality headset, as well as Android system image and platform development for Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC and custom drivers and HAL implementation of dual display light engine drivers. Richard was also a Contract Software Engineer at TomTom that same year. In 2018, they joined OXSIGHT Limited as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer. Richard is currently a Lead Embedded Systems Engineer at Gardin Agritech.

Richard Osterloh attended the University of Cape Town from 2004 to 2007, where they earned a BScEng in Mechatronics. Prior to that, they attended Westerford High School from 1998 to 2002 and Grove Primary School from 1990 to 1997. Osterloh has also obtained several certifications, including Internet of Things: Setting Up Your DragonBoard™ Development Platform from Coursera Course Certificates in October 2016, BerkeleyX - CS188.1x - Artificial Intelligence from edX in May 2015, and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence from Udacity in December 2011.
