Jenn Cook

Technical Services Director at Garfield County Libraries

Jenn Cook has a diverse work experience in the fields of library services and education. Jenn began their career as a Teacher Librarian in the Roaring Fork School District from 2002 to 2015, where they were involved in strategic planning, system selection, and staff training. Jenn then worked as a Teacher Librarian in the Aspen School District from 2015 to 2016, where they focused on integrating information systems and enhancing community access to historical materials. Since 2016, Jenn has been working at Garfield County Libraries, starting as a Circulation Coordinator before progressing to the role of Branch Manager. In this role, they built strong community partnerships and managed staff development. More recently, they served as the Library Circulation & Collections Manager, overseeing policy revisions, launching a new collection, and fostering strong relationships with district staff. Jenn currently holds the position of Technical Services Director at Garfield County Libraries.

Jenn Cook obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Calvin University, which they attended from 1989 to 1993. Following this, they pursued a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree in Library Science at Emporia State University from 2004 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications such as "The Data Scientist’s Toolbox" from Coursera Course Certificates in September 2016 and "Identifying Community Needs for Public Library Management" from MichiganX - PUBLIB601x in October 2017.
