Shelley's extensive experience in educational settings includes roles as Director of Student & Family Services, Assistant Principal, and Teacher at Rockwall ISD from July 2004 to July 2016. Earlier in their career, Shelley worked in Corporate America as a Writer and Copy Editor from August 1992 to July 2004, contributing to various agencies and publications. Shelley holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce, a Master of Arts in Journalism/English from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University.
