Gene Bernieri

VP, Ancillary Systems at Garnet Health

Mr. Bernieri oversees the Garnet Health Medical Center, PT OT Speech, Pharmacy, Nutrition and Food Service and system-wide for Garnet Health Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory Care, Wound Care, Diabetes, Sleep, EVS, and Security departments.

Mr. Bernieri was previously Greater Hudson Valley Health System Diagnostic Imaging Administrator. In this role he developed operational strategy to create system wide efficiencies and a merge plan to gain improved clinical outcomes and economical operating costs.

He joined the organization in 2002 as Administrator of Diagnostic Imaging at Orange Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bernieri graduated from St. Clares Hospital and Health Center School of Radiology Technology and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Business Administration and Management from Empire State College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is licensed in Radiography in New York and California, and is a Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in X-Ray and MRI.

A member of the Association of Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) for many years, Mr. Bernieri obtained Fellow status with the AHRA as well as his Radiology Administrator Certification (CRA). In 2014, the AHRA awarded Mr. Bernieri with the prestigious award for Medical Imaging Excellence at the National Conference in Washington DC. He is a recognized national speaker for the AHRA presenting on numerous occasions at national and local conferences throughout the country. Major National Presentation Topics include “Effective Dashboards”, “MRI Safety Lessons Learned”, “Effective Performance Appraisals” and “TJC Sentinel Alert Radiation Exposure”.

Before joining the organization, Mr. Bernieri was Administrative Director of Diagnostic Imaging/Transportation Services at St. Luke’s /Cornwall Hospital.
