Penny Gillespie

Penny Gillespie is currently the VP, Analyst at Gartner. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Industry Analyst at Forrester Research & Giga Information Group from May 2000 to March 2005. In this role, they conducted extensive research and analysis on global business and technology strategies for executives pertaining to products and customer usage in the areas of mobile commerce, online banking (retail, small business and corporate), electronic payments (retail and corporate), electronic bill and invoice presentment, payment fraud and risk. Penny advised and guided c-level executives in interpretation of market trends and the impact of these trends on their companies and industries. Gillespie also wrote authoritative articles for leading international industry research and advisory houses to guide executives. In addition, they provided personalized research for clients’ unique needs through client specific advisory and consulting. Penny presented strategic insights and analysis to C-level audiences at both US and international industry events. Gillespie was sought by media and industry—radio, television and print—for comments and validation.

Prior to their work in the research and analysis industry, Gillespie served as the Senior Marketing Manager for CyberMark from January 1990 to December 1996.

Penny Gillespie completed an MBA in business at The George Washington University School of Business and a BS in accounting at Greensboro College.
