Angela Fontaine

Angela Fontaine has a diverse and extensive work experience. Angela is currently working at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as an INCITe Research Fellow and Centre Manager since May 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as an INCITe Research Fellow at the same institute from January 2023 to May 2023.

Before joining the Garvan Institute, Angela worked at the Centenary Institute from 2017 to 2022. Angela held the position of BioImaging Specialist from June 2019 to June 2022 and was a Research Officer from May 2017 to May 2019. During this time, they were also associated with the University of Sydney as a High Content Screening Specialist from June 2019 to June 2022.

Angela's research experience includes a role as a Research Fellow at the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation from May 2017 to May 2019. Angela also worked as a PhD student at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München - Walter Brendel Centre of Experimental Medicine from September 2011 to October 2016.

In addition, Angela has gained international research experience as an Exchange Student at Fundação Oswaldo Cruz - Departamento de Fisiologia e Farmacodinamica (IOC) in 2013 and as a Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry from July 2010 to August 2011.

Angela Fontaine began their research journey as an MSc Student at Paris Lodron University of Salzburg - Laboratory for Immunology and Molecular Cancer Research from April 2009 to April 2010.
