Filippo Ammazzalorso

Filippo Ammazzalorso has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of software engineering, medical research, and IT management. Filippo has worked as a Software Engineering Lead at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Lead Software Engineer at Omniscient Neurotechnology, where they played a key role in the development of the company's neurosurgery software and data pipelines. Filippo also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at CSIRO's Data61, where they were involved in the design and development of two digital twin projects for structural health monitoring.

Before that, Filippo worked as a Software Engineer at the ACRF Image X Institute, where they focused on cardiac blood flow digital modeling and data processing. Filippo also worked as a Technical Specialist and Team Lead at Rokt, leading a data science and engineering team and implementing software engineering best practices. Additionally, they served as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead at CSIRO's Data61, where they contributed to the development of distributed graph analytics and machine learning solutions.

Filippo's work experience also includes the role of Clinical IT Manager at the Marburg Ion-beam Therapy Center, where they managed clinical systems and networks for proton and carbon ion therapy. Filippo Ammazzalorso completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health/Medical Physics from Heidelberg University in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Torino in 2004.
