Tom Hegarty

Tom Hegarty possesses extensive experience in network operations and emergency management within the gas industry, currently serving as the Network Operation Manager at Gas Networks Ireland since August 2014. In this role, Tom oversees the maintenance and safe operation of the Transmission and Distribution System across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man, managing system monitoring, operational activities, and delivering CAPEX and OPEX projects efficiently. Prior to this, Tom held positions including National Incident and Leakage Manager at Bord Gáis Networks, where responsibilities encompassed emergency response and distribution network maintenance. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Business, Finance, and Operational Management from University College Dublin and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin, complemented by a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin.
