Christos Chalkias has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Christos is currently employed at Dynagas as a Chief Engineer since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Chief Engineer at Minerva Gas from May 2021.
Christos also worked at GasLog Ltd. for several years in different roles. From 2016 to the present, they served as a Chief Engineer, responsible for managing a crew of up to 12 staff and ensuring the safe propulsion and handling of bunkers and cargo. Christos handled technical documents and reports as well.
Before their role as Chief Engineer, Christos was a 2nd Engineer at GasLog Ltd. for 40 months (2010-2016). Christos was accountable for risk assessment, delegation of job tasks, and providing safety training to the engine crew. Christos also took part in new vessel deliveries at shipyards in Korea.
Christos started their career as a 3rd Engineer at GasLog Ltd. for 30 months (2006-2009). Christos attended dry dockings, coordinated spare parts delivery, and performed inspection activities.
Christos gained initial experience as an Apprentice Engineer at Hellespont from 1998 to 2002, and later worked as a 3rd Engineer from 2003 to 2004 at the same company.
Christos Chalkias holds an Engineer Class A' Diploma in Marine Maintenance/Fitter and Ship Repair Technology/Technician from the Seafarers Training Directorate (KESEN), which they completed in 2016. Christos also has an Engineer Class B' Diploma in the same field from KESEN, obtained in 2010. Additionally, Christos has an Engineer Class C' Diploma in Marine Maintenance/Fitter and Ship Repair Technology/Technician from the Merchant Marine Academy of Macedonia, completed in 2002.
