Joanna Collings

Joanna Collings (nee Murphy) has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joanna currently serves as the Chief People Officer at Gatehouse Bank plc, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an HR Business Partner at the same company from September 2021 to June 2022.

Before joining Gatehouse Bank, Joanna spent a significant portion of their career at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Joanna held various HR roles within the organization, including being a Business Partner for the Retail Division of the Divesting Business (to become Williams & Glyn) from August 2013 to August 2014. Their responsibilities in this role included managing the HR relationship with the Managing Director of the Retail Division and leading the HR workstream for the pre-IPO organizational design and rebranding.

Joanna also worked as a Business Partner in the Branch & Private Banking division of RBS from April 2010 to August 2013. In this capacity, they managed the HR relationship with the Managing Director of the South Region and had national responsibilities across the broader Branch & Private Banking business. Their contributions included developing and implementing business restructures, building talent and succession plans, driving cultural change programs, and simplifying policies and processes.

Throughout their career, Joanna has held other notable positions, such as Lead Consultant in the Corporate Banking Division of RBS, and Head of Human Resources at Lombard North Central Plc, where they were responsible for designing and delivering the People Plan.

Joanna Collings (nee Murphy) pursued their education from 1985 to 1990 at The County High School in Leftwich, Northwich, Cheshire. Joanna later attended Loughborough University from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Banking & Finance. Furthermore, in the years 1998 to 2000, they attended the University of West London, where they earned the designation of Member Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
