Chanda Lockhart

Chief Development Officer at Gateway Public Schools

Chanda Lockhart has over 11 years of experience in development, fundraising, and outreach roles. As the Chief Development Officer at Gateway Public Schools since July 2022, they lead a team of fundraising professionals to exceed annual fundraising goals and increase community engagement. Chanda has also been the Director of Development and Outreach at Gateway Public Schools since December 2017, where they developed a strong major donor program and is leading efforts to increase annual fundraising by $1 million by 2025.

Prior to their current role, Chanda served as the Development Director and Interim Executive Director at Seven Tepees Youth Program from June 2015 to November 2017. From August 2012 to June 2015, Chanda was the Annual Fund and Alumni Manager at San Francisco Friends School. Chanda successfully managed the fundraising strategies and activities of the Annual Fund campaign, exceeding annual income and participation goals. Chanda also created and implemented a year-round program of events for SF Friends alumni.

In addition, Chanda has been involved with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Silicon Valley Chapter, as a Mentee from March 2014 to October 2014.

Before their work at Seven Tepees and San Francisco Friends School, Chanda was the Development Manager at the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation from April 2010 to August 2012. Chanda led a $1.3M campaign and managed various fundraising initiatives. Prior to that, they worked as a Direct Marketing Coordinator at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from October 2008 to April 2010.

Chanda's earlier work experience includes roles as a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks Coffee Company from June 2004 to October 2008, a Donor Relations and Special Events Intern at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from June 2008 to August 2008, and a Marketing Intern at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore from January 2007 to April 2007.

Chanda Lockhart has pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication - Public Relations from Towson University. Additionally, they have also pursued a Master's degree in Health and Nutrition Education from Hawthorn University.
