Shelly Walker has over 20 years of experience in environmental compliance and management. Shelly is currently working as an Environmental Compliance Lead at Gateway Services Inc. Prior to their current role, Shelly served as a Division Environmental Manager at Lennar, where they were responsible for environmental compliance at over 30 communities in Colorado. Before Lennar, they worked as a Contract Environmental Project Manager, performing contract piece work for updating air quality permits for oil and gas facilities in multiple states. Shelly also has experience as a Facility Environmental Coordinator at Georgia Pacific, where they managed and implemented environmental programs at gypsum wallboard plants and quarries. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Environmental Quality Specialist at the Clark County Department of Aviation, managing the environmental program for air quality, solid waste, hazardous waste, and water quality permits. Additionally, Shelly worked as a Principal Planner for the Clark County Nuclear Waste Division and as an Air Quality Specialist for Clark County. Shelly began their career as a Senior Staff Geologist at Converse Consultants, where they managed soil and groundwater investigations for environmental compliance. Shelly has a strong background in environmental regulations, permit compliance, and project management.
Shelly Walker obtained a Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Minnesota Duluth from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they studied Engineering at Michigan Technological University from 1986 to 1992. Shelly has additional certifications in areas such as sediment and erosion control, new source review, dust control, visible emissions, and hazardous waste.
