Bill Hansen

Bill is an Operating Partner at Gauge Capital, where he focuses on education investments. Outside of Gauge, Bill currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Strada Education Network, a national social impact organization dedicated to helping all students build more purposeful pathways to and from post-secondary education. Prior to Strada, he worked for 15 years in the public sector and 20 years in the education business and nonprofit sectors, most notably serving as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education from 2001-2003. While serving as Deputy Secretary, Bill acted as the department’s chief operating officer and managed 5,000 employees and a $100 billion annual budget. Bill earned a BA in economics from George Mason University.
