Carina Cisneros

Carina Cisneros is currently the Dean of Student Success & Equity at Gavilan College. Carina has dedicated their career to helping students achieve their academic goals, and has been working in the field of education for over 15 years.

Cisneros began their career as a private tutor, before moving on to work as a TRiO Retention Advisor with Student Support Services. In 2006, they joined CSU Monterey Bay as an EOP Coordinator, where they worked for eight years before being promoted to Assistant Director of EOPS/CARE at Mission College in 2014.

In their current role at Gavilan College, Cisneros is responsible for overseeing all Special Programs, including EOPS, CARE, DSPS, and CalWORKs. Under their leadership, the college has seen a significant increase in student success and retention rates.

Carina Cisneros earned a Master of Arts in Mexican American Studies from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from California State University, Monterey Bay.

They work with Michelle Anaya - Director, Business Services, Graciano Mendoza - VP, Administrative Services, and Susan Sweeney - Interim Dean of Student Learning & Student Success, Career Education & Workforce Pathways. Their manager is Kathleen A. Rose, Superintendent & President.
