Maggie Starr

Maggie Starr is an ecologist currently working with Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions as part of the Marine Advisory Team since June 2023. Previously, Maggie served as a Marine Mammal Observer at Green Rebel, focusing on seabird species identification from aerial imagery. Earlier experience includes working as an ecologist at ByrneLooby, where efforts were concentrated on waste, geotechnical, land remediation, and environmental projects. Academic contributions took place at the University of Galway, where as a research assistant, Maggie engaged in monitoring wastewater discharge and conducting sedimentological surveys. Maggie's foundational experience includes participation in the Smart Sea School program, animal handling at Seal Rescue Ireland, and assisting in marine research aboard the RV Thalassa. Maggie holds a Bachelor's degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Galway.
