Steven Marshall

Steven Marshall has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Steven began their career in the drilling industry as a Well Planning Engineer, responsible for well design and survey management in the North Sea. Steven then progressed to roles as a Drilling Engineer and Project Drilling Engineer, working on deepwater Angola projects for BP.

Marshall later joined Baker Hughes, a GE company, where they served as a Regional Manager for Quality & Reliability in North Africa, overseeing compliance efforts and enhancing quality management systems. Steven also held positions as a Project Manager and Executive Account Manager, managing client accounts and leading drilling services for ExxonMobil projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand. During their time at Baker Hughes, they implemented large-scale restructuring to adapt to market downturn.

Marshall's experience also includes working at CO2CRC Limited as a Project Manager, overseeing the deployment of carbon capture and storage monitoring technologies. Steven managed a collaborative team focused on a research and development project, ensuring the operational delivery of injection and monitoring wells.

Most recently, Marshall has held leadership positions at the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions and GB Energy. As CarbonNet Operations Director, they led a multidisciplinary team in the development of a complex infrastructure project, involving the engineering design of CO2 pipelines and offshore storage structures. Steven also served as the Acting CarbonNet Project Director, collaborating with research organizations and stakeholders to develop a world-class carbon capture and storage network in Victoria. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer at GB Energy, responsible for delivering infrastructure to support the Golden Beach Development, which aims to provide secure and reliable energy storage to the Victorian energy market. Throughout their career, Marshall has demonstrated strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a focus on safety.

From 1998 to 2000, Steven Marshall attended Fife College, where they pursued a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum & Mechanical Engineering.
