Karen Vickers

Karen Vickers is a seasoned Database professional with 22 years of experience in commercial and scientific research environments, currently serving as a Senior Application Database Support Engineer at GBG Plc since January 2018. With a strong background in project and resource management, Karen has led a team providing comprehensive support for database technologies. Prior to GBG, Karen held various positions at the British Oceanographic Data Centre, including Database and Production Support Manager, where responsibilities included managing scientific data operations and championing information security principles. Karen's career began in system and network administration roles, with foundational education in Computing, Mathematics, and Systems from The Open University, complemented by an MSc in Networked Information Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University.
