Saul Sassoon currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at GCR Ratings since August 2020, bringing extensive financial expertise to the organization. Prior to this role, Saul worked as a Commercial Specialist at Strutfast from November 2019 to August 2020 and held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Virgin Money in South Africa from March 2009 to November 2019. Earlier in Saul's career, experience included serving as an Audit Clerk at PKF Johannesburg from February 2006 to February 2009. Saul Sassoon earned a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of the Witwatersrand between 2001 and 2004, following education at King David Linksfield from 1996 to 2000.

GCR traces its origins back to 1996 when it was established as the African arm of the New York Stock Exchange-listed Duff & Phelps. Very rapid growth followed and GCR has since established itself as the leading rating agency in Africa, accounting for the majority of all ratings accorded on the African continent. It is also recognised as an eligible External Credit Assessment Institution (ECAI) by the Bank of Mauritius. In South Africa, GCR is registered as a Credit Rating Services Provider by the Financial Services Conduct Authority. GCR is also recognised as an eligible ECAI by the South African Reserve Bank.
