John Waterman, PMP, PMI-ACP, GISP

John Waterman, PMP, PMI-ACP, GISP has over 20 years of experience in the geospatial IT services industry. From 2004 to present, they have been the CTO and Owner of GCS, a geospatial IT services company. From 2004 to present, they have also been a Senior GIS Programmer and Spatial Database Administrator at microDATA GIS Inc. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2004, they were a GIS Consultant and ArcGIS Software Developer at ESRI. During their time at ESRI, they worked in both the Redlands, CA and Denver offices, assisting customers with desktop and web GIS integrations using ArcGIS, ArcIMS, and ArcSDE technologies.

John Waterman has an extensive education history. John obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from Oregon State University in 1998. John then went on to receive a Masters from the University of Montana in 2000. John has also obtained numerous certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2011, the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) in 2018, the Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) in 2011, and the Esri Enterprise Administration Associate Certification in 2012. In addition, they have obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in 2020, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in 2020, and the AWS Certified Security - Specialty in 2021. John has also obtained certifications from Esri such as the Esri Enterprise Geodata Management Associate Certification in 2020, the ArcGIS API for JavaScript Specialty 19-001 in 2021, and the ArcGIS API for Python Specialty 20-001 in 2021.
