Todd Stevens

Director, Claims & Procurement at Global Container Terminals

Todd Stevens has extensive work experience in the logistics and transportation industry. Todd has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise in operations, procurement, claims, and supply chain management.

At GCT Global Container Terminals Inc., Todd served as the Director of Claims & Procurement, where they managed container, equipment, vessel, and outside personnel claims. Todd also built a procurement department and implemented strategic sourcing and supply chain management policies. Prior to this, they worked as the General Manager of Operations & Business Development, responsible for developing contracts and operation plans for waste management projects and leading the Hurricane Sandy Recovery Project.

Todd has also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Commander and Commanding Officer, overseeing logistical operations and providing leadership and mentorship to sailors. Additionally, they worked as the General Manager of US and Intermodal Operations at American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier Group, managing operating budgets for port/cargo operations and global inland distribution.

Earlier in their career, Todd held positions such as Manager Rail Operations at New York Container Terminal Inc., overseeing the design and operation of an on-dock rail system, and Marine Operations at New York Container Terminal, where they managed stevedoring operations and maximized vessel and terminal asset utilization.

Todd has experience in intermodal procurement and logistics as well. Todd worked at CMA-CGM America Inc. as the North American Intermodal Procurement Specialist, building a network of trucking companies and resolving problems related to container movement. At Hamburg Sud, they served as a Vessel Planner, ensuring the safe and efficient stowage of cargo during vessel operations.

Finally, Todd started their career at Sea-Land Service, Inc. as a Cargo Services Supervisor, responsible for expediting import and export cargo through the terminal. Todd also served as an Assistant Marine Manager, accountable for the operations in various ports and managing stevedoring operations.

Overall, Todd Stevens has a diverse background in logistics and transportation, with expertise in operations management, procurement, claims, supply chain management, and leadership in both civilian and military settings.

Todd Stevens holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business from Rutgers University. Todd also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation and Business Administration from the State University of New York Maritime College. Additionally, they completed the Joint Professional Military Education program at the USAF Air Command and Staff College, specializing in Strategy and Policy, Joint Operations, and National Security Decision Making. Todd has also acquired various certifications, including a Top Secret/Special Background Security Investigation from the United States Department of Defense and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Lean Sensei International. Todd is also certified and trained in several areas such as hazmat tables and appendices, IMDG Code and segregation for carriage by vessel, locomotive engineering, facility security officer training, ground transport dangerous goods according to 49CFR (DOT), and holds a U.S. Merchant Marine license as an Unlimited Mate and Limited Master from the U.S. Coast Guard.
