Seth Brown

Seth has more than 30 years of electric utility and consulting experience and has managed various functions at the largest generation and transmission cooperative in the country. His management experience includes engineering design, test engineering, project management, operations and maintenance, electric tariff services, regulatory compliance and litigation. Seth has developed computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and piloted the first implementation of customer relationship software (CRM) in the provision of electric tariff services.

Seth has been performing consulting services in a wide range of areas for transmission and distribution cooperatives and municipal electric systems. This includes consulting on NERC and Regional Entity Standards compliance, transmission contracts for services, analysis of system impact studies, transmission queue issues and developing policies on complex issues such as financial transmission rights, ancillary services and generator operations. He has performed compliance assessments and “mock audits” of Order 693 Standards and regional standards in all Regions, supported clients during RE on-site audits and spot checks, and representation during settlement negotiations. In addition, he has assisted clients with certification of new Balancing Authorities and Transmission Operators and development of internal compliance programs.
