Doug Witter has extensive experience in data security and protection. Doug currently works at GE Aviation as the Principal Data Security Leader, where they provide strategic leadership for Information Rights Management, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Threat, and Endpoint security. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Data Protection at GE Aviation, where they led a team in building and maintaining an Insider Threat platform.
Before joining GE Aviation, Doug worked at GE Power as the Senior Director of Data Protection. In this role, they led a program responsible for identifying and preventing data breaches by monitoring, detecting, and blocking sensitive data. Doug also led the Information Rights Management program for all of GE and delivered a data assurance tool that led to significant cost savings for GE Power.
Doug's earlier work experience includes a role at GE as the Principal Technologist - End User Technologies, where they managed teams and delivered various technology solutions, including a PC imaging solution and the introduction of Mac platforms at GE. Doug also evaluated and implemented a cloud content management and file sharing solution for the company.
Prior to their time at GE, Doug worked at HP as a Global Delivery Architect for the Procter & Gamble account. In this role, they managed and supported the global eSupport infrastructure and developed various self-help solutions for end-users.
Before joining HP, Doug worked at Procter & Gamble as a Global PC Engineer and Developer, where they were responsible for OS design and delivery for the company's Standard Enterprise Workstation Platform.

Doug Witter obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Ohio University from 1989 to 1993. Doug then attended DePaul University College of Law from 1994 to 1996, where they studied Law. In terms of additional certifications, Doug Witter has obtained the GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) certification from GIAC Certifications in December 2020, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in January 2020. Doug has also completed various training courses including "Azure for Architects: Design for Identity and Security" and "Microsoft 365 Essential Training for Administrators" from LinkedIn, as well as the SEI Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM) program from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013.
