Tomas Muchenik

Tomas Muchenik is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in composite design and emerging technologies, currently serving as a Sr. Staff Engineer for Composite Design at GE Aerospace since January 2023. Prior roles include Sr. Technical Leader and Sr. Engineering Manager at GE Renewable Energy, where responsibilities involved the design, analysis, and evaluation of components in wind energy applications. Tomas has a strong academic background with a Ph.D. in Materials Science from West Virginia University, complemented by roles as an adjunct faculty member and involvement in various research initiatives. Leadership skills are evidenced by active participation in the SAMPE student chapter, where Tomas organized events and secured funding. Key research contributions include novel fabrication processes for sensors and investigations in nanostructured materials, showcasing expertise across multiple facets of materials science and engineering.
