David Elwood

David Elwood is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in hydropower and renewable energy technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Hydro Turbine/Generator Engineer at GE Vernova since September 2019, David focuses on hydropower rebuild and refurbishment projects in the Western United States. In addition, David holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at Rebalance Energy, where efforts are directed towards developing sustainable energy storage solutions. As Managing Principal of Rebalance, LLC since May 2011, David leads a woman-owned small business specializing in environmental consulting. Previous roles include Project Mechanical Engineer at Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County for the Wells Hydroelectric project, Associate Marine/Mechanical Engineer at HDR ENGINEERING, INC, and various positions within the naval architecture field. David's academic background includes a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MSE in Coastal and Ocean Engineering from Oregon State University.
